If we would pay more attention to a functional internal calendar that is the our memory a little bit, we would be at least happier.
Imagine watching a movie with the utmost of focuses, but also with the memory span of a squirrel. Every scene will feel like the climax of the action before, as you remember it. And you just presume that the epiphany is coming, but you have no idea if you are experiencing the conclusion or you are merely looking at the first 5 minutes. That’s how we see life when we give importance only to what appear to be, instead of trying to connect the other dots.
Knowing the difference between the hurt version of you from the past and the rather self-secure you from today is important. Almost as important as making it.
